Robin Hoare

Sheffield's Favourite Bluesman

Robin has played in pubs and clubs and at many festivals since the 1990s. If you see two gigs in a row, they will not be the same. Since the mid 1990s, Robin has become one of Sheffield's best respected guitar teachers. He works with students of all ages and abilities from kids learning nursery rhymes to young adults going to music college to pursue a career in music.

He has shared the stage with many noted players including, Hugh Mesekela, Aynsley Lister, Dani Wilde, Wilco Johnson and Johnny McElhone.

He started playing pubs and clubs in Sheffield with bands like Blues Express, Junction 34 and Green Onions in the early 1990s and went out under his own name in 2002. He has played around the UK including 6 years on the run at the Great British R&B Festival culminating in his curating and headlining the Cream Instrument Cable Stage in 2009. He has also played the Maryport and Burnley Blues Festivals along with scores of other events. He released the album “A Time and Place” in 2009 to critical acclaim.

After a few quiet years attending to home life, he has returned with 3 successful gigs at Sheffield's Tramlines Festival in 2017. With new connections made and old ones reforged, the coming years will be very exciting.
