Robin Hoare has been playing the blues and music from the blues family for a quarter of a century. From pub and clubs to festivals and concerts, he has been a distinctive voice throughout.
He is driven by a passion for blues guitar and songcraft in any style. He loves improvisation, spontaneity and the sparks that happen between musicians who work that way. The thrill of the song that evolves and changes is what keeps him playing.
Robin blends the influence of blues greats like Albert Collins, funk masters like Dr John and songwriters including Richard Thompson. This led Henry Yates in Classic Rock Magazine to remark that he: “is not a straight bluesman... but then, the best ones never are.”
A story teller's voice and dynamic improvising style mean each song has it's own distinctive angle.
He is proud to work with Tom A. Wright and Robin Baker in The Robin Hoare Band. Robin also performs with The Bears Blues Band.
He contributes to other live projects and is open to working in new situations.
